A few Saturdays ago group of us lady friends [sorry husbands] got together for our first ever weekend brunch. I say first ever because if this doesn’t become a regular thing moving forward tears will flow and a deep depression will set in. It was as brunchy as brunch should be complete with all the food, all the laughter and of course – all the champagne.
We headed out to what I am deeming the best brunch spot in Elkhart County and settled in for a nice two, three, who’s counting hours.
Being that champagne is the obvious focal point of any brunch we cheers’d it on up with one of my personal favorites, KORBEL California Champagne. Because we are women and we like options we settled on the KORBEL Brut and Brut Rose and of course also had some orange juice and peach juice on hand to mix things up mimosa and Bellini style.
Being that it’s brunch and we were all “but do I order breakfast or do I order lunch?!” we did what any wise group would do, we kinda just ordered it all. Again, sorry husbands. #champagnemadeusdoit. To start with we each poured a glass of the KORBEL Brut and paired it with an excellent meat and cheese board to compliment the crisp flavor of the champagne. Nothing about this arrangement disappointed.
To sweeten things up a bit we also ordered the maple bacon croissant donuts [amazing], brioche stuffed french toast with sauteed apples, and pancakes with a lemon blueberry peach compote on top. To top it off we enjoyed a glass or two of the Sweet Rose as it pairs wonderfully with fruit because hello, did you see the list of fruit topped on all of the above 😉
As our main course of biscuits and gravy arrived we started to get a little more fancy and fun with our champagne by making mimosas [brut + orange juice] and bellinis [brut + peach juice].
This was such a fun way to get in a few hours of quality girl time and I can’t wait to do it again! Now go grab those girlfriends of your own, a few bottles of KORBEL Cocktails and feast yourself on a delicious KORBEL Brunch. Cheers!
