The Easiest Thanksgiving Meal You’ll Ever Make

December 1, 2014

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Marie Callender’s for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

As all of you are preparing to feast upon turkey upon noodles upon mashed potatoes upon green bean casserole this coming Thursday, I most likely will be eating a hot dog with diet coke inside a Disney park. And while that sounds like it would be an exciting thing, I am obsessed with Thanksgiving food. When my parents informed us earlier this year that we would be spending Thanksgiving at Disney my first thought was something along the lines of “BUT WHAT ABOUT STUFFING!??!” I’m not sure if I have confessed my love for stuffing yet, but I am obsessed. In fact, I frequently make stuffing for lunch or dinner for just myself because holy cow, have you ever had that stuff? Anyhow – after crying internal tears that I wouldn’t be having a “normal” meal this Holiday, I wandered off to the grocery store to do my thing. Low and behold I fixed my eyes upon that glory of a meal you see up above, a Marie Callender’s meal complete with turkey, green beans, mashed potatoes, and wait for it….stuffing. Obviously I purchased several because hello, this is way easier than yanking the neck out of a turkey which leads to back spasms which leads to tears which leads to cursing Thanksgiving name. Not speaking from experience or anything.

The cooler thing than not getting back spasms is that Marie Callender’s is currently running aComforts From Home project which donates .50 cents to the USO for every purchase you make, once you submit your eight digit code at Comforts From Home. I love that they have made such an easy way to support our troops during the Holiday season. Just traveling this Fall I was lucky enough to sit by one of our troops on the airplane and got to hear about what life is like for him overseas. We talked about how difficult the Holidays will be for him this year as he will be away from family. Knowing that my love of stuffing can bring a little bit of joy to his and other brave men and women’s lives is well worth the purchase.

Marie Callender’s is currently preparing to flood the social media market on 11/30 with the news of their Comforts From Home project. You can help spread the word and continue the movement right now by signing up for their Thunderclap program here. It will simply post a tweet, status update on Facebook, or post to your Tumblr on that date.

Spread the good work, eat some good food, and remember what the Holidays are truly all about this year…now if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got some stuffing to eat.

For every entry by 01/31/2015 of an 8-digit code found on participating products, Marie Callendar’s will donate .50 cents to the USO2GO program. Guaranteed minimum donation: $100,000. Maximum donation: $250,000. Limit 5 code entries per person/computer each day. Valid in U.S. only.

Make sure to like Marie Callender’s Facebook page for all updates concerning the Comforts From Home project.
