It’s hard to believe that the week of Christmas is already upon us. I know for me personally I have gotten so caught up in the duties of Christmas I haven’t stopped to really think about how special this time of the year is. Just yesterday in the midst of crossing off the daily to-do’s [buy gifts, wrap gifts, buy food, make food, clean up house, etc] I finally found myself really focusing on what this season means and more so, what I want it to look like this week. Enough with the gifts — enough with stress — enough with making sure everything will look, taste, and be perfect for the different gatherings we are hosting. That is so not the heartbeat of what this season is. I want this week and especially Christmas Day to be anything but about me. Ultimately, for Him yes — but also for those who are in need, who are hurting, who don’t have a warm home to open presents in, those who don’t have a family to hug at the front door. I encourage you to be intentional this week with your time, resources, prayers. Pay attention to the people in front of you, look around for opportunities to help, just please make this week count.
I wish you all the merriest of Christmases — thank you for making my days brighter on a continuous basis. I am so grateful for each and every one of you. May you love and be loved. xoxo.
