Saturday turned out to be one of the better Saturdays I’ve had in awhile. For starters I got free chicken nuggets at Chick-fil-A which is actually somewhat of a funny story now that I mention it. You see, the other night I had went to a baseball game with some friends where it just so happens our tickets had free chicken sandwich coupons on them from Chick-fil-A. Being the nugget lover I am, I thought I would cross out the word sandwich and replace it with nuggets. To make it seem even more legit I had a friend initial the change because obviously, all coupon changes need employee initials. Needless to say, I presented my makeshift coupon, the cashier laughed, and then agreed to give me free nuggets instead of a sandwich.
Immediately following this event I dumped two entire sugar packets over my french fries thinking it was salt and then started to tell Shawn about how they must use a really sweet ketchup at this location.
Free Nuggets vs Sugar Infested Fries…I still say I won.
Back to the matter at hand–what made Saturday even greater than my stint of free nuggets, was our day/evening trip to a distillery, rooftop restaurant, and casino in the Michigan area to celebrate my friends 30th birthday. [side note: local peeps–hit up
Journeyman Distillery in Three Oaks, then venture on over to
The Stray Dog in New Buffalo, and then plant yourself at
Four Winds Casino for the remainder of the evening]. The day went a little like this….
Started at the distillery where I tasted whiskey like a boss [aka one sip] and proceeded to delight in a frozen Moscow mule. They also had this incredible Fire & Ice drink which consisted of whiskey, habanero peppers, pineapple, and lime. It’s all I can do to not think about it 24/7.

miss chic [which reminds me, there are still some mediums left in
Love, Yellow]
The next stop consisted of a cucumber martini and once again, the most delicious Moscow Mule. And oh my word, a burger topped with jalapenos, pepperjack cheese, and spicy mayo. HOLY BALLS IT WAS GOOD.
Last but not least, we stopped off at the casino where I won all sorts of money [okay $60] playing Roulette. Black for the win baby. Somewhere in there I chanted “Bankruptcy! Bankruptcy!” to a friend who was losing at Black Jack so I don’t think he liked that too much. I also attempted to take a few pictures of our time there but apparently my camera felt a lot like myself.

All in all it was such a great day and I am so thankful to have fun people in my life to share these little adventures with. Now if only I could make this an every Saturday type of thing…
