Every other weekend I will be sharing a recipe with you from one of my favorite bloggers, Amanda from Marshalls Abroad. Amanda documents her life beautifully through her blog and also has a passion for creating incredible dishes for you and I to enjoy (which in return makes us 10 pounds heavier. minor details). I hope you enjoy her contributions as much as I do! Make sure to go visit Amanda on her own space to receive tons of other fabulous recipes, breath taking photos, and a great voice in this blogging world.
With football in high demand right now, I couldn’t think of a better recipe for Amanda to share than this one. Cheers to having happy men all over the world this weekend.
MAN CHILI
Not the most appetizing photo I’ve ever taken, true, but here lies the secret ingredient
that turns chili into man chili: three different kinds of meat.
Steak strips, sausage and ground beef.
I once added bacon too, which earned me an extra kiss.
Patrick Tanner & Mikey Wayne, this recipe has your names all over it!
Here’s where I sneak in some veggies. Carrots, potato, bell peppers, onion, and fresh cilantro.
You’ll also need beef broth, olive oil, salt, red pepper, kidney & pinto beans.
Cover the bottom of the crockpot with olive oil. I like to then put in the meat so that it cooks thoroughly, drizzle more olive oil on top, add salt {a generous amount!}, add the chopped veggies and beans, pepper, and fresh cilantro.
Pour in the beef broth – as much as you like. I usually use 1-2 cups.
And then the most important part…
Red wine! Pour in a good, generous amount. Best part, forever amen.
Cook on low and have a fantastic day sans thought of making dinner later.
Shave fresh parm or my go-to cheese of late – pecorino romano – on top with some fresh cilantro.
“I feel like my entire makeup bag is just Tarte products” – actual words from the LIY Team. It’s no secret we’re BIG fans of Tarte Cosmetics around here. Between the trusty concealer we’ve been using for years and the lip balm we’re trying in every single shade, Tarte has become a staple in our […]
