After approximately 4 years of living here, we figured it was time to actually do something with the bunk room here at the lake. Sometimes I act fast on things, sometimes it takes me 4 years. You win some, you lose some. However, what’s that classic saying — “good things come to those who wait” — well, it’s true. The proof is here, in the bunk room.
I’ve delayed doing much in this space because, for the life of me, I couldn’t figure out how to lay it out. It’s a very long room with a lot of space to fill in between the four built-in beds lining the walls. It has always felt like one giant space and while my first instinct was to fill it with go-karts and create a race track, the practical side of me went for the less dangerous option of filling it with things like a couch and a cute rug. Soft materials may serve us well in our toddler years with Crew 😉
I turned to Macy’s to furnish the room after hearing great things about the Radley sectional and well, I rabbit trailed from there filling my cart with all sorts of things [their brand, Simplie Fun, has SO many fun finds!] While I still have a few bookshelves to fill up, the room is pretty much ready to roll! Grab your mini Coke, a bowl of popcorn, and let’s do a little room tour!

Radley sectional // Polka Dot Rug // Simplie Fun Wood Coffee Table
I never knew how wonderful it would be to have a sectional in this room. Will I spend hours in here once Crew goes down for bed at night either reading the latest LIY Reads Book Club book or catching up on the newest season of Emily in Paris? You better believe it. Because the bunk room is over the garage and at the back of the house, it’s a great spot to hide away in without causing noise for anybody else!
I plopped her [her being the couch] on this adorable and fun rug! We have a mix of boys and girls who use this room between my nieces and nephews so I wanted something that encompassed all colors and this one checks off all the boxes! It’s soft, playful, and can go with nearly anything!
And then we have this coffee table. We were so impressed with the quality of it – it is a solid wood and adds an element of fun with its curvy lines!
Next up, let’s switch our attention to where all eyes will be affixed to when hanging on the couch — the TV area. Again, I wanted something fun to put under the TV that can hold all of the movies, gaming equipment [tell me, why do I suddenly want a Playstation 5?], etc. When I found this cabinet, I knew it was the winning ticket! While assembly was required, I think it’s the perfect cabinet for a kid’s space!
Now, let’s make our way to the back of the room shall we…
To the game table! It’s a 3-in-1 game table that has foosball, pool, and air hockey ensuring kids never get bored! It is a budget-friendly piece which I was in favor of since I knew it will get beat up on pretty quickly by said nieces and nephews.
All in all, I couldn’t be happier with how this room turned out and can’t wait for kids [and heck, myself] to make some lasting memories in! Be sure to check out Macy’s Home for your next project!
