If you’ve been following along for any length of time, then you know I’ve never been one to shy away from wearing bold colors and prints. Just ask me how Living in Yellow got its name. Why yellow you ask? Because to me, yellow = happy. When I wear it, I instantly feel my mood turn around. I feel more energized, full of life and have an easier time seeing the glass half full [especially when said glass is filled with something delicious]. I’m a firm believer that wearing a bright color on the outside makes me feel all sorts of bright on the inside.
So here we are, welcoming sweet, sweet summertime. It’s the perfect excuse to break out all the bright colors and fun prints [although I’ve never been opposed to wearing them year-round, but that’s neither here nor there]. This is the part where Ann Taylor comes in. I love Ann Taylor for high quality, easy to wear [dress ’em up, dress ’em down] pieces and for the sales they offer on occasion! When I first laid eyes on their latest new arrivals, I knew a piece [or two] of all that bright, beautiful goodness belonged in my closet. Because I say if something sparks a little joy, life is too short to deprive yourself! And I think we could all use a bit of extra joy in life right about now. Today I’m sprinkling some of that joy on each of you with a little help from Ann Taylor.
Tiled Maxi Dress // Sandals [TTS]
I love a fun spin on a timeless piece. Maxi dresses are a closet staple for me come summertime. It’s such an easy, one-and-done outfit that works for just about any occasion. They’re classic, cool, and comfortable. Not to mention the fact that they require zero leg shaving. This one makes a statement with its bold color and a fun print that has summertime written all over it [figuratively, of course].
Is it possible not to smile while wearing a dress like this? I think not. If summer were a dress, this would be it. Give me a slice of watermelon in one hand, an ice cream cone in the other, and I’m set for the rest of the season. Or at least until I’m ready for another slice and scoop. 😉 Another perk of fun prints? They disguise any stains from said watermelon or melting cones nicely. As if I needed any further convincing: Ann Taylor, you have my heart.
