Margaritas are a great go-to cocktail to cool down with on a hot summer day. The LIY Team is really into spicy margs lately! So we created a twist on the classic margarita to bring you a beverage that really kicks up the heat! This drink subs in mezcal for the classic tequila for a smokier flavor, and adds in all the summery flavors like pineapple and lime for a fruity sweetness! We added sliced jalepeño to turn up the heat, but cooled it down with coconut milk! If you really want to feel the burn, you can add a chili rim like we did. Take a look at the recipe below — we hope you’ll enjoy! Cheers to a summer filled with sugar, spice and everything nice!

I love your posts, any chance you could put together a capsule wardrobe for fall? I would love to start the school year with a capsule wardrobe, it would make my life so much simpler. Thank you!
Love this idea! More capsule posts are on the way, so keep an eye out for those! Be sure to check out our previous capsules here: https://livinginyellow.com/category/capsule-wardrobes
I have a Mezcal and it has soo much of a smoke flavor. Does your mezcal have that before the recipe? Blah! Yuck!
Hi Karol! Mezcal is inherently smoky in flavor, but the coconut milk in this recipe tones that smokiness way down! I’d say if you already have some mezcal, give it a try — maybe this will end up being a way that you’ll actually like to drink it! 🙂
Love this! There’s a local restaurant where we live that has a Passion Fruit Jalepeno Margarita on the menu year round! Cheers!!!
