I’ve been killing it in the new year, new me department. Said me never. What was supposed to be a year of salads has actually been a year of tacos, chips, and cheese. All of the cheese. It’s not necessarily my fault though, it’s Tom Brady, Peyton Manning and Aaron Rodger’s doing. They keep doing this thing called “playing football on TV” which translates to “get out the food and beer! It’s time to sit on the couch and watch!” Well played TV, well played.
We are huge taco eaters in this house so when I saw the Old El Paso™ Mini soft tortilla taco boats at Walmart I was all “those are so cute! and fun! and not messy! I need them now!” so I brought them home, whipped up the easiest taco meat ever and busted out all of the fixings for our homegate festivities. Because every football game needs a beverage, I paid a visit to the trusted ole beer aisle and perused the giant Budweiser® selection. Michelob Ultra Cactus Lime [seriously, it’s so good] for me and Rolling Rock for him and we were all set.
So you wanna make some meat do you? Awesome, lets do it.
The Easiest Slow Cooker Taco Meat
Ingredients:
2 lbs ground beef
1 1/2 cups water
1/4 cup chopped onion
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp salt
1 taco seasoning packet
Directions:
1. Place [uncooked] ground beef, water, onion, garlic powder and salt into a slow cooker and cook on high for around 2 hours stirring occasionally.
2. Once the meat is nearly cooked through stir and break up if needed – turn the slow cooker to low for an additional 1-2 hours.
3. Stir in the taco seasoning packet and cook for 20 minutes.
4. Drain any excess water
5. Fill up your taco boats and top off with all of your favorite taco toppings!
Whether it’s a party for two or twenty, the
Old El Paso™ soft tortilla taco boats are sure to be a winner with everybody. Who are you watching the big games with this football season and what’s on your plate?
