It recently occurred to me that out of all the rooms in our house, I have yet to talk about our master bedroom much on this sweet ole blog. When coming up with how I wanted our bedroom to feel in our new house I knew a couple of things – I wanted it to feel like an escape, be airy and bright, and have a few coastal/nautical touches. While it is not nearly to where I would like it to be, it’s getting there. Recently I have been dreaming up a plan for how I would like to change up this space and while I would love to go buck wild and start buying, my husband likes to “plan” a little more in advance. By planning that means I must create a budget and show him in advance what I am wanting to purchase to transform this space. After doing a little bit of research I found an awesome website that allows me to do just that [seriously, this site is the coolest] – Shopswell.
Here’s how it all works – you are able to discover and share products you love, make and share your own lists, track and save your favorite products and so much more. It allows you to shop smartly with those that you follow. It’s like Pinterest for shopping – only better. Gone are the days of dead links [seriously, how annoying is that when you find something you love only to realize you have no way of actually getting to the site?] The items that you search on Shopswell are items that are currently available for purchase AND it shows the current price..cha ching! One thing that I also realized is that you can easily add products into your Shopswell lists off of any website by simply clicking on the + link once inside your list and copying/pasting the link to the item you want to add.
I love that with Shopswell I can also read reviews of the products, watch videos shared by fellow shoppers and set-up my own price stalker alerts which will notify me when products I am watching drop in price! This could also be called the happy husband tool.
To get an idea of what I am talking about when I say you can follow other people’s lists, here are a few that I am currently loving :: food blog photo props, chic fabulous and cheap throw pillows, and red wines under $25 on Amazon.
I went ahead and created my own list for our coastal cozy bedroom and have been having so much fun adding in pieces that I would love to someday bring into our home. You can check it out here.
