Mint Julep

The official drink of the Kentucky Derby since 1939 with over 120,000 served during Derby Weekend! 🤯 Recipe credit: thechunkychef.com/kentucky-mint-julep/

Ingredients

  • 4-5 mint leaves roughly torn
  • 1/2 - 1 oz simple syrup
  • crushed ice
  • splash cold water
  • 2 oz bourbon
  • spring fresh mint

Instructions

  1. To bottom of serving glass, add mint leaves and simple syrup.  Muddle together with a muddler or handle of a wooden spoon. 

  2. Top with plenty of crushed ice, then pour in splash of cold water, and bourbon.  

  3. Stir, garnish with the sprig of mint, and serve!

Recipe Notes

Tip: make a non-alcoholic version with ginger ale, simple syrup, lemon juice, and of course - mint!
