Grandma Elsie's Mac & Cheese

Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb Macaroni Noodles
  • 1/3 cup Butter
  • 1/3 cup Flour
  • 2 1/4 cup Milk Room Temperature
  • 1/4 lb Shredded Cheddar Cheese
  • 1 tsp Salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°. Cook macaroni and drain.

  2. About 10 minutes before macaroni is done, in a separate sauce pan, add butter and melt.

  3. Blend in flour

  4. Gradually add milk, stirring constantly

  5. Cook until thick and smooth then simmer for 5 minutes.

  6. Add salt and cheese and cook until cheese melts.

  7. Combine 2/3 of the cheese to the mac in a 9 x 13 in dish and pour rest over the top!

  8. Cook for 20 minutes! Top with green onion or parsley for garnish. Enjoy!
