Loft Makeover

It feels like it has been a minute since I’ve talked about all of the cabin renovations we’ve been working on. With all of the paint that’s been slapped on the walls and ceiling [a quite controversial topic over on Instagram and my stories over the past several months] things have changed a lot. Now that the walls have been painted a much brighter and lighter white [bye bye orange tones, hello Swiss Coffee] I’ve had my brain on one thing and one thing only – decorating, specifically giving my focus on a complete loft makeover. While we still have a lot of work to do in the main living spaces and kitchen, the upstairs loft area was ready to start getting filled up with decor, furniture and of course – game tables.

I turned to Wayfair to get the job done. They are one of the world’s largest online destinations for the home with over 10 million products on site! I love that they have FAST free shipping on orders over $49 which makes it so simple and easy to create a home and space that you will love! I couldn’t believe just how fast everything arrived after placing my order [and how simple things were to assemble, husband’s words, not mine]. If you’re in the market right now for new furniture, decor, area rugs, lighting, bedding and anything in between, I highly recommend checking out Wayfair’s 48 hour Clearout Sale happening THIS WEEKEND ONLY! Get up to 70% OFF on furniture, decor, and appliances. Sale ends Monday, August 12th!

Before & After Reveal

Before we get into all of the details of our newly renovated and decorated space, let’s take a look back at where it all started when we purchased it last spring.

And now, for the grand reveal —

Dining and Game Table

Are you sitting over there saying “Oh my word” as well or is that just me?! What a difference a little change of paint and decor can do. Now, let’s walk through some of my favorite pieces in this area, starting with the table and chairs! We wanted an area for us to be able to sit and play cards at, eat, have our nieces and nephews to play games or color and rather than going with a traditional game table — I decided to switch things up and go with this Whisler Dining Table. I am obsessed with the base and the gold metal look. It does have the ability to seat six [I’m still in the process of picking out more chairs] and I think it’s a great modern take on our new cabin space.

As for the chairs, I went out on a limb and ordered these Bassler Upholstered Dining Chairs in green to bring in a pop of color. I love how it ties in so well with the other greenery I’ve added in the loft area. They are so comfortable, lightweight and easy to move around and make such a fun statement. Can we talk about this Amoll Ivory/Black Area Rug while we’re here as well? It is SO soft, doesn’t shed and the price is unbelievable for the quality — only $200 for this huge 7’10 x 10’10 size! It also comes in a smaller size if you’re looking for a rug to put in your living room, den, bedroom, etc!

The only thing left to worry about? Beating Shawn at Euchre, War, or any other card challenge he brings my way.

Game Area

Speaking of games — no game area would be complete without a shuffleboard table and popcorn machine [necessities, am I right?]. The goal of the entire loft area was to create a fun space for both us and our nieces and nephews to hang out and I think we’ve accomplished just that.

Finishing Decor

Moving on, let’s focus on the console table area and other finishing touches of decor. I went with this Killeen Console Table because I loved the mix of metal and wood, two materials you’ll see heavily throughout the cabin. While I’m not quite done decorating it all, I was able to find several pieces I loved from Wayfair  to make it come to life.
