I know, I KNOW. Swimsuit shopping can be one of the most daunting tasks of the year, but whether you’re ready or not, summer is quickly approaching and those days at the pool or on the boat will be here in 3…2…NOW. It’s always fun to see what the new swimwear trends are every year and I must admit, 2018 is not about to disappoint. From ruffles to embroidery, florals and more, there is a lot of cuteness going on among one pieces, bikinis and beyond. Last week we were able to experience a few days of pure sunshine and 80-degree temps which were not only amazing for the soul, but the perfect opportunity to try out a few new suits for the summer.

When shopping for swimwear, it’s important to me to find pieces that I feel both confident and comfortable in all while having a little bit of detail that makes it stand against a sea full of ordinary everyday suits. While I am typically a bikini girl, this year I am trying out a few trendy one pieces that I am seeing EVERYWHERE. I turned to Bloomingdale’s for my swimsuits and cover-up needs as they have a huge variety of adorable swimwear that is so on trend for summer. One brand that stood out to me particularly was Platinum which has exclusive to Bloomingdale’s styles [always a bonus when you can shop exclusive cuts meaning not everybody and their mom at the beach will have it]! Between their colorful combos and crochet trim everything, I knew I had to get some in my hands [and on my body] to try.

I mean….so good. This swimsuit just screams vacation and fun to me and if there are two things that I like, it’s vacations and fun. Like I mentioned earlier, I wanted to jump on the one-piece train and so when I spotted this Platinum Crochet Trim One Piece Swimsuit, I knew it was time.

Needless to say, I’ve been converted. Not only is the front full of detail, the back is equally so. I love the crisscross straps and the fact that it covers enough but still makes me feel a little bit sexy. Additionally, not having to expose ALL parts of my body to the world [I blame the mac and cheese for my lack of desire here] is equally exciting. Of course, no swimsuit is complete without its cover-up counterpart and because I fully support being a little matchy-matchy every once in awhile, I snagged this adorable crochet trim cover-up dress in black. I have invested in a few great quality cover-ups over the past year or two and continue to wear them over and over and over again, this one will be no exception I’m sure. I don’t know which I like more – the front or the back. Why choose?

I am so happy that summer is peaking out and making its appearance but even more excited that I am now officially ready thanks to Platinum swimwear. If you need me, I’ll be poolside with a cold Corona and lime on the side for the next three months. Peace out winter, you’re no longer welcome here.
