Ahh, beloved Christmas shopping. The time of the year that we get to go sweat our brains out with thousands of other people, all trampling over each other to get the same blender that the entire world wants at the same exact second. A really glorious thing that Christmas shopping is. However, there’s also those magical Christmas shopping moments – the ones where you remember that there is a bar right across the street from the mall which serves the most amazing margaritas [jackpot], when you witness a little child putting change in the Salvation Army jars and of course – all of the friends you get to see in passing while out and about. Regardless of your memories – bad or good while Christmas shopping, we can all agree on one thing – it’s the best way to get your 10,000 steps in the quickest way possible.

As you head out the door this Christmas season to shop your heart out, there’s one thing that you can control which will save your sanity, your body temperature, and your feet. Your outfit. Strategically planning what to wear on your all-day adventures can save you plenty of headaches and sweat. Nobody likes to be wrestling with a big ole winter coat while trotting around, however, you still want to be able to face the outdoors and most importantly, you want to be comfortable all day long [feet especially]. To help you in this department, I thought I would round up several great shopping outfits that will help you accomplish a) looking cute b) being comfortable c) keeping your body temperatures at normal levels, inside or out. All of the looks today are from Macy’s as they have such a big selection of comfortable items at awesome prices. As you make your way there to shop these outfits, remember to be on the lookout for Christmas gifts for those on your list as well. I can guarantee you they have a thing or two to help you scratch off those presents, one by one.

For this first round of outfits, they are all centered around the best pant option of all while shopping, leggings. As I think we have all established by now, leggings, if worn appropriately, really are the most comfortable thing you could ever walk around in for hours upon hours. Because I don’t like anything too heavy while shopping, I opted for these which are a great medium weight option. Not too warm, not too sheer.

With leggings, I went with four different top options – a vest, a cardigan, a tunic and a poncho. The pro of going with a layered option [vest or cardigan] is that you can always remove the top piece if too warm and stuff it into one of those many bags of yours. The pro of going with something like a poncho is that you indulge in every single foodcourt option and not feel the tiniest bit guilty about it.

Next up, jeans outfits with the most lightweight comfortable booties on the planet. Having shoes that are going to be nice to your feet all day long is so important when shopping. Nobody wants to be one hour into their escapades and have to call it quits because you can’t handle one.more.step.Jm Collection Open-Front Cardigan // Jm Collection Scoop-Neck Top //  Lucky Brand Brooke Jeggings // Aerosoles Just Kidding Booties Women’s ShoesIdeology Cowl-Neck Pullover // Lucky Brand Brooke Jeggings // Aerosoles Just Kidding Booties Women’s Shoes

Now if you do have to wear a coat, I would opt for something super light. This 32 Degrees Packable Down Puffer Coat is so super light and comfortable while still supplying adequate warmth. 32 Degrees Packable Down Puffer Coat // Lucky Brand Brooke Jeggings // Aerosoles Just Kidding Booties Women’s Shoes

Now, if you are one of the smart ones – you will find yourself on your couch, in your pajamas, preferably hot cocoa with a splash of something good with your laptop in hand and the only movement you have to make is when you go from your cart to the checkout button. This task requires only the comfiest of loungewear so no worries, Macy’s has you covered there as well.Alfani Heathered Pajama Tunic // Alfani Jogger Pajama Pants // Alfani Luxe Cozy Wrap // Muk Luks Amira Boot Slippers

And that concludes today’s shopping escapades lesson. Which look are you most likely to wear while shopping this holiday season?
