A Day Apple Picking [And The Cutest Outdoor Fall Wear!]

September 25, 2017

It’s something that I [we] had never done before – good ole’ apple picking. Do you remember when you were little and you would daydream about what you and your future partner would do together and it’s all so dreamy and wonderful and then you find yourself with that person and realize you’ve done about 2% of that list? Hi, that’s me! I was a darn good daydreamer of activities back in the day and have become a sucky doer of those dreams. Until now. With fall officially here and one of my team members telling me how cute this local apple farm is near us, I thought there was no better time to fill up a bucket of apples with the apple of my eye by my side 😉 Side note: going apple picking will most likely take some convincing or bribery, for some weird reason it’s not on a man’s radar to do said activity. Silly boys. Needless to say, we ventured off for a little local adventure to Kercher’s Sunrise Orchards [if you are local, you must pay a visit – it is all sorts of fall perfection!] and spent an hour or so perusing the rows of apples and filling up our cute little basket with all of the apple goodness we could get our hands on.

Obviously when planning those daydream-worthy activities, one must have daydream-worthy outfits to wear. I recently discovered Backcountry, a premium outdoor and lifestyle brand based out of Park City, Utah, and have been obsessed since. I have never experienced customer service in the way that I did with them after I placed my first order. Quick story – I recently picked out several things, all of which you’ll see below, and placed my order online. Fifteen minutes later or so my phone rings and I shockingly answered [I never answer] and on the other line was a sweet girl saying she was calling from Backcountry and just wanted to thank me for my order. She proceeded to ask if it was okay if she would email me with her contact information so that if I had a problem with the item(s) after I received them or ever needed help placing an order in the future, I could reach out directly to her. My mind was blown. Retailers do this these days?! Well, no, they don’t – but Backcountry apparently does. And it’s awesome. I shared this story right after it happened on my Facebook page [see here] and it turns out that several of you have had this same experience. Yaaaay for kick a businesses! Needless to say, I am hooked [I mean, just check out the fall lookbook here, I die] and love the brands they offer – Patagonia, Free People, Frye, Pendleton, just to name a few! When planning for your outdoor adventures, be sure to make Backcountry your first [and only] stop.

If it’s okay with you, I’d love to share some of our photos from our little day date and more importantly, the outfit(s) involved in the process. How bout’ them apples?
the smell of the leather is worth it alone – this bag is a dream. Patagonia Bivy Hooded Down Vest [true to size, wearing in small] // Patagonia Waffle Henley Shirt [true to size, wearing in small] // Free People Roller Crop Denim Pant [true to size] // Blondo Vegas Waterproof Boot [so comfortable and wonderful, highly recommend! true to size] // Frye Melissa Shoulder Bag // Shawn’s shirt similar // Shawn’s shoes [he loves his toms!]

Naturally, after we got our apples we made our way into the cute little market and stocked up on Amish peanut butter to dip our new treat into [why keep what should be a healthy snack, healthy after all?!] and took in the scenes of fall that scattered the grounds. The pumpkins, the gourds, the mums, oh my! Is there truly a better season?

Both of these outfits are the things you dream about when it comes to fall outfits – whether it be for your next tailgate, pumpkin picking, corn maze festivities or you know, apple picking – be sure to check out all of the above as I promise it will keep you warm while looking hot 😉 What activity are you excited about doing this season?
