Life has been a little busy lately. Between travels to the San Francisco area (twice), Miami and Los Angeles, the doggies getting their little testicles cut off [sorry dudes], guests staying at our home from California, running this little blog business and making sure I still get my quality wine time in, I feel like there has been little time to enjoy myself here. Fortunately [or unfortunately for you] though, I’m back!
So what were those travels for you ask [you didn’t, but for my entrainment purposes and because I have nothing else to write about I’m going to pretend you did]? Well, let me tell you! We can start with San Francisco because that’s where it all started so you know, logical move. The first 24-hour stint was for a fun filled dinner with a team from Macy’s. I am working on a blog campaign with them through the end of the year so being the wonderful people they are, wanted to meet myself and a few other bloggers face to face. All went well until I informed them that I used to have a bowl cut and people confused me for a boy. I wrapped it up by saying “the moral of the story is that I used to be a little boy”. I thought it was funny but I’m pretty sure the remainder of the evening there were people questioning my identity. One of these days I’ll learn that when people ask for a random fact I should stick to something like “I’ve never traveled to Italy but it’s on my list!” Next time.
The second trip out to the San Francisco area was with 5 of my girlfriends to go to the land of Korbel Champagne, which if there is ever a land that I would encourage you to go to it is that. I had miraculously won this trip by entering their #saybrunchcontest on Instagram and it was hands down the coolest thing I will ever win in my life. The people of Korbel pampered us for four days straight and us girls laughed harder than I’ve ever laughed in my life. More on this trip though once the photos are all in and edited!
From San Francisco, I jetted off overnight to join Shawn and 20 other bloggers + their partners in Miami for the El Clasico soccer [err, futball] game with a company I work with, ShopStyle. If you’ve ever wondered if it’s hotter than balls in Miami in late July, the answer is yes. Aside from sweating our heads off, we had a great time watching Barcelona and Real Madrid duke it out while also spending a few hours in the ocean, eating pizza for breakfast and all of those other fabulous Miami things.
Oh and somewhere during that week home, my husband convinced me that it was a good idea to lay 12,000 pounds of rock in our landscaping so yeah, my back is feeling real good right about now. Disclaimer: now would be the time where I am a good wife and admit that he actually did the majority of it, however, I did help for a couple hours and timed it PERFECTLY so that when my parents and their friends showed up I had a shovel in my hands and I was filling up the wheel barrow full, making it appear that I had been doing this the entire time.
As soon as I arrive home I will be tending to Max and Ollie and their little ball-less selves.
And that concludes everything you needed to know about my life and more as of late. That’s a lie. ONE MORE THING! My sister (Joyfully Said Signs) and I created a Living In Yellow sign collection that will be launching in the next month or so. Am I excited? Do bears crap in the woods? Do I also need to come up with more feminine terms to use on my blog? The answer to all of the above is yes.
Founder and creator of LIY, Erin turned her dream of a hobby blog into a full-time career which she now runs alongside the LIY team! When not in front of her computer screen [with a La Croix or wine in hand] or in front of a mirror taking mirror selfies, you can find Erin spending time on the water, cuddled up with her two pups and husband most likely watching the latest Shark Tank episode, or getting lost in an easy beach read.
