The last post of 2016 is officially here. I don’t think another year has ever gone faster than the one we are in right now. It may be an old age thing, it could be a busy thing [but lets be real, aren’t we all] or it may just be a fact thing. The last twelve months have flown by faster than Brad and Angelina’s marriage and while it’s been quick, it’s been a good twelve months at that. From traveling to California multiple times, Utah, Colorado, Nashville, Atlanta and more to unconsciously transitioning to this blog from lifestyle to a more fashion focused hangout spot, all while still trying to pretend I know how to get dressed most days. I’ve changed jobs, made new friends, learned repeatedly that I can’t and don’t want to do it all and consumed an unhealthy amount of macaroni and cheese.
Another major “must mention” of 2016 has to be my new profound love for Nordstrom. A secret that I haven’t been holding in. Which leads me to today’s post, winter accessories. Being a Midwest girl, staying warm this time of the year while trying to not look like a marshmallow 24/7 can sometimes prove to be a challenging task. Or at least it used to be. Until I found all of the coats, gloves, scarves, hats and more at my favorite one stop shop. An added bonus? Winter accessories can be especially bulky which can often mean expensive shipping. Thanks to Nordstrom’s free shipping and free return policy, it doesn’t matter if it my order weighs 2 pounds or 200 pounds.
When choosing a winter coat, I didn’t want something that looked like what everybody else was wearing. Thankfully Ralph Lauren came through in the clutch. Paired with a cute floppy hat, my favorite heels [seriously, I swear by these] and a chic black leather purse – this winter look will keep you warm while looking hot. A mighty fine duo if I don’t say so myself.
Founder and creator of LIY, Erin turned her dream of a hobby blog into a full-time career which she now runs alongside the LIY team! When not in front of her computer screen [with a La Croix or wine in hand] or in front of a mirror taking mirror selfies, you can find Erin spending time on the water, cuddled up with her two pups and husband most likely watching the latest Shark Tank episode, or getting lost in an easy beach read.
